It's about time I showed you guys my new classroom! I quite underestimated the work it would take to move rooms and switch grades. Live and learn...Two weeks of hard work later, and I'm 95% done. That 5% is my filing, sorting, and
So here it is! My new teeny, tiny second grade room!
The overall space when viewed from my kidney table, ready for my kiddos to come. The bulletin boards are covered with flat sheets from Wal-Mart. Can't beat $4 a sheet, especially with all the awesome color choices! Even better this is my third year using them, with very minimal fading. How 'bout those desk caddies I picked up at Dollar tree! A perfect match! The black magazine files are our book boxes, they were passed on to me by a former teacher. So thankful. :)
View from the back of the room. Love the crayon B over my desk. I was drooling over the ones on Pinterest, and I was delighted when I received one. I need some curtains to hide all that storage. I'm pretty jealous of my colleagues who have closed cupboards.
View of my kidney table, that little corner is ready to be used for Guided Math and Reading. My CRAFT board from Ladybug Teacher Files is ready to go. I loved using it last year. My anchor charts for math will go next to the CRAFT board. And my Language Arts anchor charts will go next to the pocket chart.
The view from my desk. A peek at my writing wall, where we'll display our best writing. My word wall with my chevron and lime letters. The blank bulletin board says "Presenting," that's where we will stick our Student of the Week posters. The two bookshelves separated by my student computers hold my library books. I'm in serious need of second grade books! To the garage sales and thrift stores I go! But I'm loving the chevron labels I made myself. Can't have too much chevron, can you?

My Calendar Wall. So not loving my calendar, but I haven't decided on a new one yet. I am in love with the chevron numbers from Amy Lemons. Those hand signals from the Organized Classroom come in mighty handy{pun intended}. I'm giving the Whole Brain Super Improvers Chart another try this year. Fingers crossed. I didn't love it last year, but I think that my tweaks will make it work this year. I used my Silhouette Cameo to make it.
The front of the room. My brand new Whole Brain Teaching Subway Art from the Tattooed Teacher. Can't remember where I got the voice levels printable from, let me know and I'll link it. :) The word of the day label is from my store. The manners poster is something I typed up after some Pinspiration. :)
A close up of our Clip Chart. I am so loving the chevron! It's available in my store.
And there you have it a peek into my home away from home. It's work in progress, but it's really coming together. I can't believe we're only two days in and tomorrow is already Back to School Night. Anyone else think that's a bit crazy??
Head on over to Blog Hoppin' to check out some truly fabulous classrooms!
Happy Teacher Week!
